Ten student-led ventures approved for takeoff in the 2019 Summer Startup Launchpad

On Thursday, June 20, 2019, ten teams of founders graduated from the 2019 Summer Startup Launchpad, presented by the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) at the Shidler College of Business. Each team made 7-minute presentations to a panel of entrepreneurship and innovation experts, and received certificates for completing the rigorous requirements of the 6-week program. The celebratory event also selected two teams, which were voted by their peers “Most Likely to Orbit,” based on the founders’ progress during the program. All teams received claps and cheers from their cohort mates.

Northwestern Mutual Hawai’i creates $50,000 scholarship at Shidler College

First Insurance Company established second $1 million professorship at Shidler College

First Insurance Company of Hawai‘i (FICOH), the oldest and largest insurance company headquartered in Hawai‘i, has donated $500,000 to fund a second faculty endowment at the UH Mānoa Shidler College of Business.  The First Insurance Company of Hawaii Distinguished Professorship in Insurance will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the college for a total endowment value of $1 million.
