Application Process

Follow the steps below to start planning your study abroad journey (please be sure to talk to the UH Mānoa International Exchange or UH Mānoa Study Abroad Center for assistance):

1) Review Options for Studying in Another Country

Narrow your selection by country, school, semester, and courses.
Visit the following sites for more information:

AACSB Accreditation
Visit the AACSB International website to find out which partner schools are AACSB accredited.
(Note: Students enrolling in any business core class (i.e., BUS 310 thru BUS 315) at a Non-ACCSB accredited school must take a separate ethics ("E" Focus) class to fulfill UH Manoa's "E" Focus graduation requirement. BUS 345 will not fulfill the "E" Focus requirement.)

2) Selecting Courses

To determine what courses can be transferred back, all courses need to be cleared with their Shidler College of Business Academic Advisor to ensure courses fit within the business requirements.

Students should refer to the Shidler International website for course equivalencies and schedule an appointment with their Shidler academic advisor by calling (808) 956-8215.

Students should work with their academic advisor to complete the Preliminary Course Equivalency Form: Preliminary Courses Form

By completing the Preliminary Courses form and having it certified by an advisor at Shidler, will help to confirm whether or not the courses you take abroad will be applicable towards your BBA degree.

3) Apply for Travel Scholarships

Look over and carefully complete Application Parts 1 through 5 (below). Incomplete applications will be ineligible for review.

1. Student Scholarship Application Form: Scholarship Application Form

2. Preliminary Travel Expenses Sheet: Preliminary Travel Expenses Sheet
