Will Weinstein Ethics Conversation Series returns this summer

Will Weinstein Ethics Conversation Series starts July 5th with Ethics in Capitalism featuring Jay H. Shidler and other distinguished panelists.

The candid and lively fund manager and former securities executive Will K. Weinstein is returning to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa to moderate his annual Ethics Conversation Series. Each year, Weinstein invites distinguished professionals to campus to address ethical issues that are making headlines around the world. This year’s series examines ethical issues in business, law, medicine, sports, and politics.

The series starts on July 5th with “Ethics in Capitalism,” featuring: Jay H. Shidler, founder and managing partner of The Shidler Group; Peter Shaindlin, COO of Halekulani Corporation; Bob Harrison, chairman and CEO of First Hawaiian Bank; and Roger Berkowitz, associate professor from Bard College in New York, and ends with “Ethics in Politics,” on August 7th, with Barbara Boxer, former U.S. Senator for California and Colleen Hanabusa, U.S. Representative for Hawai‘i’s 1st Congressional District.

The series is free and open to the public, with lectures scheduled from 6 - 7:30 p.m. As an added bonus, licensed attorneys are eligible for continuing legal education credits. The series is sponsored by the William S. Richardson School of Law and the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Weinstein, money manager and former partner in two very successful investment banking firms, currently leads a post-graduate summer course, “Integrity and Ethics in the Real World,” at the UH Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law and the Shidler College of Business. This is Weinstein’s 15th summer teaching the course and making this learning opportunity available to the public.
