Joanna Amberger (MBA 2008) has been elected to serve a two-year term on the national board of directors for the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Amberger is the president and founder of 3 Financial Group, an independent financial planning firm in Honolulu. She has been a member of AAUW since 2010 and is actively involved locally with AAUW Honolulu.

"AAUW is an important organization because it continues to shine a light on gender inequities," shared Amberger. "Some people believe the battles for sexual equality have been fought and won, but AAUW understands that constant vigilance is required to safeguard the advances we've made and that there continues to be much more progress that needs to be made."

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) empowers women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. The nonpartisan, nonprofit organization has more than 170,000 members and supporters across the United States, as well as 1,000 local branches and 800 college and university partners.
