Synergy in Singapore

TIM Alumni in Singapore
TIMI members and alumni gather in Singapore

In January, five members of TIM International, Inc. (TIMI), traveled to Singapore to meet up with 12 alumni from Singapore, one from Malaysia, a former Shidler College of Business faculty member who joined them from Hong Kong; and two Shidler College student abroad students.

The trip was dubbed the Lunar New Year Reunion in celebration of the year of the rat. "Many of us were able to catch up and renew relationships with old friends and make new friendships," said Cylde Min, president of TIMI. "Our two students will benefit even more from their studies in Singapore with the help and support from our alumni."

The TIMI members – Min, Lee-Ann Choy, Kathy Inkinen, Lois Sismar and Nestor Ocasio – hosted the alumni reunion dinner at Godmama Modern Peranakan Restaurant. A great discussion ensued and Min delivered a written message from Shidler College Dean Vance Roley.

After the dinner, alumnus Anthony Wong, BBA ’83, hosted the group at his restaurant, Fremantle Seafood Market at Clarke Quay. The group enjoyed after-dinner drinks along the picturesque Singapore River.

"On behalf of TIMI, I extend our sincerest appreciation for your attendance and participation at our reunion dinner at Godmama," Min said. "We enjoyed meeting all of you, some for the first time and others in catching up with lifelong relationships. A special thank you to Christina Keilthy and her excellent staff for preparing and serving a great Peranakan dinner."
