Shidler Ambassador Program – Help Recruit Students
The Shidler Ambassadors are a select group of current students and alumni who are dedicated to the positive promotion of the Shidler College of Business. They endeavor to attract the best students to the Shidler College, build the Shidler brand, and strengthen the Shidler community. Shidler Ambassadors serve as an essential component of the College's total public relations effort to increase enrollment and expand its global reputation.
Objectives
- Build the spirit of involvement within the Shidler student & alumni community
- Strengthen external community awareness of Shidler College programs
- Provide an opportunity for prospective student interaction with current students & alumni
- Provide a meaningful leadership opportunity for current students & alumni to share their program experiences, while promoting Shidler programs
Mission
The Shidler Ambassador Program is designed to help prospective applicants gain insight into the Shidler experience – from the students' perspective.

Responsibilities
- Positively represent the Shidler student body and community
- Talk with and answer questions from prospective applicants about their program experience, at events and through email or phone
- Assist in the recruitment of future Shidler Ambassadors (i.e. identifying prospective students in their employing company)
- Lead campus visits or participate in information sessions
- Host/Promote on-site corporate recruiting events
- Promote the College in the public media
Qualifications
- Must have the desire to interact with prospective applicants and communicate positively about the Shidler College of Business
- Must have an adequate working knowledge of basic information about the Shidler College and the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa (info provided)
- Ability to communicate effectively through email and phone when needed
- Able to serve a term of one year or more
- Current Students: 3.3 Cumulative GPA, Reference from faculty or staff, Interview by phone or in-person
- Alumni: Interview by phone or in-person
Cost
There is no cost to join or participate in the Shidler Ambassador Program.
