About PACE
The Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship and E-Business (PACE) is the home for an integrated set of leading edge entrepreneurship programs at the University of Hawaii. Based in the Shidler College of Business, PACE is dedicated to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit among all members of our community.
The UH Business Plan Competition was originally started in 1999 by former College of Business Dean David McClain, who now serves as President of the University of Hawaii. Administered by PACE, the Competition has grown into the State's largest competition of its kind with the support of friends in Hawaii's business community.
Business Plan Competition Goals:
- Get business leaders involved as coaches to build a support network for entrepreneurship that includes entrepreneurs, seasoned managers, professionals, and investors;
- Create new companies each year by encouraging students with business ideas to move them from concept to action and implementation;
- Help companies to start and grow businesses here and to attract and retain the talented people who are the backbone of an entrepreneurial economy.
