All classes are taught in Vietnam by University of Hawaii Faculty who travel to Vietnam to deliver their instruction and course material face-to-face. Most have spent years researching, teaching and consulting in the Asia-Pacific region. Area of Expertise:
Professor Alden has been with the University of Hawaii at Manoa since 1989. He teaches courses in promotions management, marketing management and international marketing. His primary research interest is in cross-cultural communications and consumer behavior in Southeast Asia. His current research focuses on three major areas: international promotion strategy, cross-cultural consumer behavior and health care communications.

Professor Bangert has been with the University of Hawaii at Manoa since 1989, specializing in business strategy and negotiations. He has taught such courses as business strategy, negotiations, leadership, external environmental of business and quality. His current research focuses on negotiation and conflict management in global organization.

Area of Expertise:
Dr. Bess’ academic research has focused on transportation management and policy. More recently he has focused on the area of strategic management and the management of not-for-profit organizations. He has authored two books and numerous articles and chapters in books.

Area of Expertise:
Professor Bui has been with the University of Hawaii at Manoa since 1997, specializing in Information Technology Management, group decision and negotiation, decision support system, and economic development in economies in transition. He has conducted workshops on electronic commerce, Hawaii’s digital economy, E-commerce for small businesses and E-commerce in Asia.

Education:
Ph.D., MBA, University of Pittsburgh, 1982; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), 1983; B. A., Mills College in Oakland, California.
Area of Expertise:
Dr. Chang's research interests include issues related to Asian capital markets, financial services industry, and market microstructure.
In addition, she has conducted commissioned studies for international institutions such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong, and several Asian stock exchanges.
Dr. Chang has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1984 and is active in training and educating future CFAs. She served as an independent trustee for the Zurich Scudder Investments, Inc from 1995-2001.

Jack P. Suyderhoud |

Professor of Business Economics

Ph.D., Purdue University, Economics (August 1978); M.S., Purdue University, Economics (December 1972); B.S. (Cum Laude), Jamestown College, Economics and Mathematics (May 1971).
Area of Expertise:
One area of Dr. Suyderhoud's research is in government incentives to stimulate foreign direct investment in Southeast Asia.
Dr. Suyderhoud has been a consultant to the State of Hawaii, Governments of American Samoa, Guam, and the County of Hawaii, the National Education Association, the Pacific Basin Development Council, and numerous Hawaii businesses and labor organizations.
Dr. Suyderhoud has won a number of teaching and service awards including the University of Hawaii Award for Meritorious Teaching, the Dennis Ching (First Interstate Bank) Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award, and the College of Business "Kaizen" Service Awards.
Dr. Suyderhoud has taught in business programs in Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and France.
